The Fool

Standing at the edge of the world
The wind holds me.
Like silk ribbons wrapping my skin
I’m embraced just by being.
Never alone, yet the sting of loneliness lay beneath the surface.
Tempered by the cool sprays of the sea, reminding me to come outside of myself from time to time.
Is it safe?
I hesitate to share.
The place I once feared has now become my shelter.
Yet, why does my heart leap for the flames?
Love is a suicide mission.
It’s a cliff side.
It’s a bridge.
It’s the depths of the ocean as the tides pull us under.
Do we jump?
3…. 2…. Wonder.
