The Pensive Pause: A Night of Rhyme and Reflection in Garikhana,Shillong
The waiting hours, a moment of pause
Along the Garikhana traffic cause
No sumo cabs, all booked away
By the election commission, I heard they say.
I stood there, waiting for my ride
With weary feet, I could not hide
The frustration that filled my heart
As I gazed upon the busy part.
The people around, they all stood still
In search of a ride, they sought their fill
But the wait proved to be in vain
As the sumo cabs, they did not gain.
In my thoughts, a rhythm did beat
A verse, I arranged, so neat and sweet
Lost in my mind, I kept quiet
Hesitant to speak, I did not try it.
The night fell, I took a walk
To my Syadheh village, my journey took
And in the morning, I found my rest
With a good night's sleep, I felt my best.
The waiting hours, a moment in time
When the mind wanders and the rhythm does rhyme
A beautiful moment, I did see
In the night's journey, with poetry.
For though the wait was long and tiring
It brought me to a place of inspiration and desiring
Where I could craft a verse, so fine
Of the waiting hours, my journey divine.
And so, I stand here, with pen in hand
Recalling the journey, through this land
Where the waiting hours brought me peace
And the beauty of the night, did not cease.
For in that moment, I saw the stars
And the moon, so bright, like glowing scars
The gentle breeze, did whisper a song
Of hope, and joy, and a place where I belong.
And as I walk, my heart felt light
With the rhythm, and verse, that came to sight
For though the wait was long and tough
It brought me to a place, so rich and rough.
For in that village, my home so dear
I found the beauty, so clear and sincere
With the laughter of children, and the warmth of love
And the peace that only nature can bring above.
And so, I stand here, with a smile on my face
For the waiting hours, have brought me grace
For though it may seem, like a moment in vain
It has brought me to a place, where I can find my reign.
And so, I will remember this night
With the waiting hours, and the rhythm so bright
For it has brought me, to a place of peace
And the beauty of the night, will never cease.
