Dim
There is so much peace
To be found in the quiet space
The gloom that we fear in solitude
Calm that resounds with gray
A heart built atop a quiet place.
Breathing through heavy air.
Heaving burdens through time.
Nostalgia felt within déjà vu’s
Of a time that is not yet born.
Daydreaming for change,
In a life forever in stasis.
Thoughts ricocheting
In a mind seeking stillness.
Praying for the greenery
Over the horizon,
The hope of a man
Wearing his demons.
About this poem
This poem is very personal for me. Even though it’s short it encapsulates my life now. I feel stuck and unmotivated to do most things. I feel like this piece has allowed me to breathe again.
