Till the end of time

It’s been three days you’re gone

Mere days like years

The home is pale and dry

The trees have stopped their swings and they’re still

The air has seized its breath

Everywhere is dark and silent

The rooster has ceased to crow

All is heard is the sound of rodents ambling down the roof

I’m here reminiscing, looking back to the good memories

When the home was homey

When we use to laugh has to chat

Waking up to the brightness of the day

I’ll never forget our early morning trips

The evening adventurous wandering

How we use to trade places

Our dreams, our vision, our upheavals

Our clique, the brotherhood, tightest in the hood

I tranced with my eyes wide open

Tear drops rolling down my cheeks

Wondering if you’ll ever come back

Baffling if we’ll ever be together again

Hoping the trees will begin to dance

The air will release its breath

There’ll be light

The rooster begins to crow

Will they ever come back?

It’s been three days you’re gone

Mere days like years

The home is pale and dry

Everywhere is dark and silent

All is heard is the sound of rodents ambling down the roof

You’re gone till the end of time.
