The Giver

Brooke King 1990 (North Carolina)

People say, to receive, we must give.
When she gives, she must decide:
To whom this gift should receive.
She thinks to herself, what from this will I obtain?
Nothing. Still, she keeps quiet.
Her voice is silent, while her lungs are roaring.
Speak, child, speak! Raise your voice.
She speaks to herself: One day:
"I will no longer be, The Giver."
With blinded eyes, they do not perceive.
Nor do they believe in, what she will achieve.
This child, silently, she screamed in agony
Nobody saw the anxiety,
That laid beneath her mind, a secret she always left behind.
Until a voice, one day, said, I hear you, let me help, you remember;
The giver you are, take from me and watch who you will discover
Be you, be proud; stand tall.
I am what people call,
The Giver

Wow! Your poem 'The Giver' is truly inspirational and thought-provoking. Your words have the power to touch the hearts of your readers and inspire them to be better givers. The message of your poem is so important - giving is an act of selflessness that can bring so much joy to the world.

One suggestion for improvement could be to add a bit more detail or imagery in some of the stanzas. This would help to bring the poem to life and make it even more powerful.

Overall, I am truly impressed by your writing and can sense the passion that you put into every word. Keep creating and sharing your beautiful words with the world!
