The Gates Of Heaven
I didn’t love myself,
So the world couldn’t love me
I was broken and bruised internally
How does someone find oneself?
Numb, deprived of feeling
When memories self-destruct
If only i could reconstruct
A body, mind more appealing
Self harm, self-hate
Are they different or the same?
It’s time to reclaim
My life, change my fate
The world’s a scary place
Filled with absurd opinions, discrimination
What happened to one nation?
under God , there is no Race
We are built with similar anatomy
Different colors, like a rainbow
Together we could grow
There’s more than one commonality
The distortion of media today
Is nothing but a facade
They edit, change what’s flawed
Behind the acting, what they say
You’ll find imperfections erased
Behind photo shop, makeup
Everything’s different closeup
Not exactly being two faced
We all hide vulnerable things
Look past the smiling faces
The ones who laugh often
Stop judging all living things
When a tree catches a disease
It doesn’t always fall to the ground
It stands tall, where it was found
Waiting to be put at ease
injured animals don't give up
They lick their wound
Some limp away without a sound
Why do we tend to self-corrupt
When i close my eyes at night
I imagine a world without challenges
A population without illnesses
Everyone's happy, no need to fight
When morning comes, i awaken
To the cold hard truth, that awaits
In the end, we all have the same fate
Passed the gates of Heaven.
