The shadows beneath
A lonely scarred women sits on the side of the street,
The tears she has cried you can see it beneath,
No one to hold her and help banish the pain,
Instead a feeling of cold that makes her feel ashamed.
The loneliness encircles her like a black hole of suffering,
Leaving her empty feeling voided with no gain,
Unworthy to walk with her head held high,
But trampled beneath the feet for the one whom she would die.
No ear cares to turn towards her to listen,
No eyes wet with tears that did glisten,
What lies beneath this woman in pain,
Is a heart filled with love that just hoped for the same.
But atlas that day never did come, she waited so long until time came to an end,
And she was left alone without a friend.
