Echoes of Regret
In the twilight of May's embrace,
A tale unfolds, a somber trace,
Of hearts entwined in bitter strife,
A haunting memory, a scarred life.
Once bloomed a love, so pure and bright,
A beacon in the darkest night,
But shadows crept and doubts took hold,
And in their wake, a story told.
"I hope hurting me haunts you for years,"
A whispered plea, a trail of tears,
For in the throes of love's demise,
A specter rose, a truth in lies.
The petals fell, the colors bled,
A love once vibrant, now lay dead,
Yet in the silence, echoes ring,
A ghostly presence, a lasting sting.
For every wound, a memory etched,
A haunting reminder, a love besmirched,
And as the years drift slowly by,
The specter lingers, a mournful sigh.
In May's embrace, the flowers bloom,
A testament to love's lost tomb,
And in the whispers of the breeze,
A haunting plea, a soul's release.
So let the echoes of regret,
Serve as a lesson, lest we forget,
The fragile hearts we hold so dear,
May haunt us still, year after year.
