That Pain
I have a heart that once was true
But blinded by love, I innocently gave it to you;
I hoped faithfully that you'll be glad,
I never expected you'd treat it so bad.
I gave you my heart with innocent youth,
I didn't knew then that you're such a brute;
I hoped for you to give me joy, not despair,
With my heart broken beyond repair.
I've loved you & treasured you as if you're a gold
But so heartlessly, you left me out in the cold;
I've loved you so honestly, so faithfully, so blindly,
And now here I am... sad, blue, broken & lonely.
About this poem
Wrote this when I was in high school, about 20-plus years ago. Inspired by my 1st broken heart. It makes me smile now but it was torture back then.
