Bliss
Joe Strickland 1986 (Hobbysville, SC)
Eternal delight
Nature’s beauty all around
Blissful peace within
In summer we find
Bliss in warm sun on our skin
Tranquil ocean waves,
Soft sand between our toes and
Laughter shared with cherished friends.
Bliss is a feeling unlike any other,
A state of pure and utter happiness,
Where worries and troubles fade away,
And all that’s left is peace and serenity.
It fills your heart and mind with joy,
And makes you wish that it could last forever.
In this fleeting moment, time stands still,
And you forget about the cares of the world.
You’re surrounded by a sense of tranquility,
And you feel as though you could exist in this state forever.
It’s a true sense of calm and happiness,
A feeling that’s hard to describe with words.
Bliss is the feeling of the sun on your face,
Or the wind in your hair on a summer day.
It’s laughter and love, and all things nice,
A feeling of contentment as you go on your way.
It makes you smile and fills you with joy,
And you wish that bliss could last forever.
When everything is perfect, when everything’s just right,
And you feel as though you’re living in a dream.
This is the feeling of pure and utter bliss,
Where life is beautiful and nothing’s as it seems.
It’s a moment that you wish would never end,
And you hope that you can hold on to it forever.
But bliss is fleeting and it comes and goes,
A transient feeling that’s hard to maintain.
It’s something that you have to let yourself feel,
And learn to appreciate when it comes again.
For though it’s here only for a moment in time,
Its memory can last forever in the mind.
Bliss is the purest form of happiness,
And it’s the feeling we all chase in life.
But it’s not something we can hold on to forever,
For it’s a fleeting moment that’s gone in the blink of an eye.
Yet even when it’s gone, its memory does survive,
And we can hold on to its essence for all time.
