mirrored ripples

Mirrored ripples

The water sits still while I stare
Into my cup where I feel a slight flow of air
A slight remembrance of past years
Brings forth a flood of what I fear
Walking through the hallways it finally seems clear
Once everyone moves on no one will know that I am here
As I hear their laughter and playfulness while everyone's cheer
A slight sense of loneliness, a silently pent-up tear.
This cup of water reflects my brain it is seen by many but once used they tend to strain
As the image of myself is seen by the same mind that criticizes all of my plays
It becomes a bitter pill to swallow but easy once trained
But being with friends keeps me from hollow but be careful not to trail too close or follow
From the depths of my mind somehow greaves sorrow
Mirrored ripples are far from any thought that I can re-borrow,
From deep moments of contemplation,
To writing songs from deep down in my brain's basement.
Mirrored ripples and introspection,
I have found happiness through several hard life lessons,
When in deep thought I somehow lose reality,
The deep thought that I base on is inadequate due to my intricate sanity.
