The Rise and Fall Of the Pandemic
The year was AD 2019,
The Universe was going about as usual,
Not a single soul knew,
What lay around the corner,
An entity of darkness and death,
Masquerading as a virus in a bat,
Spread forth its wings,
And took to the skies,
Encompassing all parts,
Of the known world,
This generation inheriting the planet,
Heard and understood in horror,
The meaning of lockdown,
As the world came to a complete halt.
Humans fell by the hundreds,
Then thousands,then millions,
Graveyards,crematoriums came short,
Mass burials became the norm.
The front line warriors of this generation,
Fought the race against time,
For the survival of mankind,
With no thought of self preservation,
Many perished in the war,
That lasted two whole years.
Standing by our fighting saviours,
The world saluted them.
With candle light vigils,
The planet cried in unison,
Go corona go,
To annihilate the viral beast.
After a seamless age of agony,
The brightest minds came together,
To shield the survivors against the virus,
With a vaccine,
Nothing short of a gift,
From the lord almighty.
The world limped backed to normalcy,
Humans took stock,
Of what this age of darkness,
Had actually cost them,
Nothing would be the same again,
For the most superior species,
Had just almost finished enduring,
The Rise and fall of the Pandemic.
