The Lies You Told
The Lies people tell are nothing but that
They are lies, not fact
They hurt your self esteem
They make you seem
A though you are simply a bad person
Deep down you know that they are lies
But lies are like flies that swarm your mind
Taking over everything Inside
Until you can't hide
Are you who they say?
No, but that does not relieve
The pain you feel and then you start to believe
That you are not the victim
Everything is wrong, but that is the system
You doubt yourself
You doubt you are a good person
And then your mental state starts to worsen
Where am I?
You start to ask
Who am I?
These lies escalated so quickly
You no longer know who you are and what you held dearly
Lies never go away
For they are like flies that swarm your mind
Until you have lost the person you used to be.
And then you emerge from the cocoon of lies
The flies no longer swarming your mind
The passing of time begins to grind
All the flies to a powder
You let the wind blow away the powder
and the little bit to remain
Gets turned into power
For you no longer have flies swarming your mind
And now you have a full suit of armor.
The lies can't get to you any longer
For you are being protected by the flies
That once took over your mind.
