Oh, Allah The Almighty
Yousif Ibrahim Abubaker 1986 (Omdurman)
Oh, Allah
Oh, Allah
There is no god but you, the Knower of secrets and declarations
You're the Compassionate
The Merciful
Oh, Allah
Besides whom there is no god
The Sovereign
The Holy
The Peace-Giver
The Faith-Giver
The Overseer
The Almighty
The Omnipotent
The Overwhelming Glory be to you beyond what they associate
Oh, Allah
The Creator
The Maker
The Designer
You are the Most Beautiful Names
Whatever is in the heavens and the earth glorifies
You’re the Majestic
The Wise
Praise be to you
Oh, my Creator
As You have made us believers
You are the Almighty
The supreme
The creator and ruler of a universe without a partner
Your blessings are our strength
You guide us to repent
In our bunch of wealth
You give us the love to distribute to the poor
You are our creator and there is nothing like you
There is nothing that can overwhelm you There is no God besides you and, you are eternal without a beginning and enduring without an end
You will either perish or come to an end
And nothing happens except what you will, no imagination can conceive of you
And no understanding can comprehend you
You are different from any created being
However, Allah, Mighty and Majestic
You are the creator of time and peace however
We must believe that your knowledge encompasses everything
And you know, see and listen to everything last
We obey you in word and deed This world is a trial for us, you know what is the best for us
You test us for every pain and sorrow
You're alone worth of worship.

POET’S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM: The poem was written on Friday, 25 August 2023. This poem captures Allah, an Arabic word, that means God, in the monotheistic sense. Allah is the centre of the Qur’an and Islam, as is reflected in the Islamic testament of faith, “There is no God but Allah.” He is Rabb al-Alamin, Lord of all Worlds – humans, animals, the earth, the universe, angels, this world, and the next. He is the Creator of everything, the Provider, who gives life and death, and the ultimate Judge. the characteristics of Allah, the main source must be the Qur’an, Allah’s message to humanity, in which His characteristics are outlined. The picture the Qur’an gives of Allah appears to offer a fine balance of attributes: Allah is both before and after everything, the first and the last; manifest in His visible creation but also beyond sigh more »
