The Empty Room

Cody Bouton 1985 (Orlando)

I stare at my computer gazing at the complexities of the day
My heart burdened by loneliness

My heart craves for your beauty
Patiently waiting for your extraordinary existence to accompany me once more

I stare at that cold empty door
Hoping for it to be touched by your grace
The emptiness of this room is deafening

Your heart fills it like a fiery inferno
I long for that fire
A passionate burning

To hear your hand at that door
Letting in the light of your perfection
It is the most splendid part of my existence

You fill the room with such a luminous beauty
One can not resist, but to be moved by you
My soul desiring your warmth

I hear you entering this room once more
You look at me with the most consuming eyes
You breathe out the words that define my existence.

Hello.
