Mom
M LEE AHMET 1983 (Putnam)
You've always said you would be there for me the very next day
When dawn came, and night had gone away.
There's never a day that goes on by, where I don't stop to think
When I don't start to cry
I never thought to see you again would take so long
Where are you, Mom
When you're supposed to be here guiding me through life?
And teaching me right from wrong
I knew I would always be your little girl
Even though I'm now sixteen
I knew we had the kind of love
That would never fade
Would never die
When you left
There was nothing left for me to do
But sit there and cry and cry
As I think of you and all the good times we have once been through
I know my guardian angel is watching over me from above
I know my guardian angel is no one else but you
I know we'll be together before very long
On that day, I knew you were there right in front of me
But I realized you were gone...
