The Storm Passes
Miralle Martin 1977 (Pietermaritzburg)
As she walks through the storm, she felt a sense of Déjà Vu. As the ferocious dark clouds clashed into each other, bursting into the loudest thunder bolts and lightening flashing across the sky so to was there a storm within her that has been brewing and ready to burst. A clashing of her mind, heart and soul. Her mind knowing one thing, her heart feeling something else and her soul lost.
A million questions race through her mind.. Questions that her mind already knows the answers too but heart would rather not feel and her soul wants to scream as loud as the thunder roaring above. The water drips down her face camouflaging the tears streaming down. Her body is as cold as her heart and the weight of her wet clothes feels as heavy as her soul..
She has no strength to fight the storm any longer, she surrenders, she let's go..
As sure as day, the storm passes. Her spirit has calmed.
As she takes off her drenched clothes, she feels warmth returning to her body. Like the fiery red dress, a spark lit within her that reflects in her eyes, her smile, her confidence.
She had to go through the storm to see the rainbow.
