Down and Up

Tomin Mooney 1972 (Cochin)

Things don’t look up when you are going down

But twist , twist, twiiiiiist that neck hung low below deck
Twist around and look up

From the bottom of the sea
And you can see
Beyond  the weight of a mega tonne of water
The faint shimmer of the sun
Dappled and faint but still there
Life giving

To make that first kick of your lifeless leg
To float towards that light
Forever and with all your might

And things will look up when you are going up.
