Skyscraper Halo
The sky was closing in around us
and the bridge was rocking
you to sleep.
Your hair spread out around you,
A dying halo of blond,
a sun sinking into the ocean.
You were an angel
with wings of memory
all coated in light
from skyscrapers.
Your wings didn't flap
for you.
In my day dreams,
they always did.
In every dream I've ever had,
you flew.
