The Fix Is In The Problem
Richard Scorpio 1964 (Iowa)
In the dance of life, with its twists and turns,
We seek solutions, as the candle burns.
But what if the answer, to our dismay,
Lies in the problem, hidden in plain day?
Take the wood stove, with its soot so black,
A cleaning conundrum, a real knack.
We scrub and we scour, with chemical might,
Yet the glass remains a sorrowful sight.
Then comes the trick, from the ash it's born,
Mixed with water, on a cold winter's morn.
A swipe and a wipe, and behold the view,
Clear and pristine, as morning dew.
Consider the snake, with its venomous bite,
A fear in the grass, a dangerous plight.
Yet within that venom, lies a cure so keen,
A vaccine born from the fangs unseen.
Now, let's ponder love, that mysterious game,
Where hearts seek hearts, like moths to a flame.
We read and we wonder, how to mend what's broken,
With advice and rules, so many spoken.
Yet, in the heartache, the tears that we spill,
Lies the answer, a quiet thrill.
Understanding and forgiveness, from within it flows,
Healing the rifts, soothing the woes.
So, in life's riddles, both big and small,
Maybe the fix isn't far at all.
In the problem itself, the solution we find,
A reminder that answers are often entwined.
About this poem
I was looking up a way to clean a wood burning stove window. Impossible task. One video said you can do it with the ash from the wood, and water. So I thought, how many other problems can we fix when the answer is right in front of us.
