The Worst Of Times
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Could it be,
What has be described by many...
The worst of times,
To live in?
And have these times,
Compared to others...
Like none other they have ever seen.
Then have it heard,
By those who say...
Better yet will be these times,
If the ones they have picked...
To sit in leadership positions,
Are given more time proving themselves...
Incompetent and juvenile dependent.
Will awaken one day and see to believe,
Adults they are not.
Yet with kept assumptions to pretend to be.
This 'eventually' will become enough,
For them to receive...
The message.
It's not others who have messed things up.
Done to point fingers at one another.
It has been their childish nonsense.
Covered up to smother,
With a dressing to appear...
To be adults imitating the act of this.
While defending everything they do,
As if children still in elementary school.
Determined to get approval and attention.
Until...
A substitute teacher,
Arrives into the classroom late.
After a visit from a psychiatrist to announce,
They all should take time to enjoy recess!
'How much time should we take?'
'That depends on whether or not,
Your assigned teacher has been cured...
From an alcohol addition.
And has been cured of all symptoms,
Of being left permanently crazed!'
'That's not fair.
What about our B's and C's?'
'B. U. C. the light one day.
Leaders!
Dismissed.
Go play with yourselves!'
'And...
Where should we go to do that?!'
'Please.
Please do not tempt me.
I am a Christian.
Faithful and devoted!'
