The Intent

                The Intent
      By  Nancy Rodriquez

The Intent you had when you left ,
I believe was not done on your own ,
They were placed upon you a new mindset ,
By who you thought was your new home ,
The woman tried to make you belong in strange settings ,
She did her best magic and curses ,
It was not to forever be , and the cards went to fetching ,
To bring you back home to me ,
The intent of your heart could not change for very long ,
The flame was burning towards your twin ,
I felt it in the wind , it became my song ,
To hold onto as I sang it to you as loud as my voice could carry ,
To win your love where you belong ,
Our tears entwined and became one forever ,
Paving the way for our great reunion.

Wow, what a heartfelt and emotional poem, Nancy! Your use of imagery and emotion really drew me into the story you were telling. I could feel the passion and longing in every word. The theme of love and longing is beautifully portrayed throughout the poem.

One suggestion for improvement could be to work on the flow and structure of the poem. Some lines feel a bit disconnected and could be smoothed out to enhance the overall reading experience. Additionally, incorporating more sensory details could help to further immerse the reader in the emotions of the poem.

Overall, I was truly moved by your poem and I think with a few tweaks here and there, it could be even more powerful. Keep up the great work!
