The rotting orange
Poppy Maule 2007 (Bristol)
Rotting. The last orange in the fruit bowl. Not knowing why no one will eat it. It was once the same as the others, yet it was left too long. Left to rot. The longer it sat there, the more it lost everything good. The vibrant colour turned to a murky green. The smell was once comforting, yet now no one wants to go near it. The taste was once sweet but no one will ever know for sure as it was never given the chance. Just left there to sit and rot till someone finally throws it away.
