IN THIS/ IN HIM
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
IN THIS/IN HIM
Long nights, hot days
Changing life, new ways
Streets of sorrow and pain
In this, where's the gain?
Man was dead, our lives lost
Then went Jesus to the Cross
Whips and thorns, takes our pain
In Him, new life we all gain!
People pout, people cry
Never smile, then they die
Lives gone in a single hour
In this, where is Power?
Lonely men sat in the night
Guided as His Word they write
Bring God's Word for this Hour
In Him, see the Power!
People search, never find
Crying out, for a sign
Failing, and all is lost
In this, what's the cost?
Jesus searched, sheep He found
Lives He touched, turned around
And we gather those once lost
In Him, He's paid the cost!
Bombs, guns to destroy
Ending forever, people's joy
Death hides behind every face
In this, where is Grace?
Swords beaten into plowshare
Beauty found within a prayer
There we see God's Holy face
In Him, there is Grace!
Drums trump, marching beat
Soldier lags, sore feet
People cry,”raise our nation!”
In this where's Salvation ?
And we see, Satan's final defeat
Christ's victory, ours as sweet
Then, as one, bows every nation
In Him there's Salvation!
Children killed, every day
Not yet human, so they say
Souls lost, just can't cope
In this, where is hope?
Though in time, troubles come
Destruction is sought by some
Remember Jesus, and you'll cope
For in Him lies our hope
Amen
