To my dearest
Oh my dearest! for the sake of love
Tell me this one thing if that's enough
Has any being ever tasted such pain
Whose endurance bared the soul away
Sufferings which made two worlds collide
A torment so sweet, made us all blind
Now my dearest, I ask you again,
To let us be one for sake of this shame
Now let us be one with desire, let us drown
In haunting seas you admire
There — I shall offer you my heart, behold!
And you’ll ask me to hold your sins instead
Oh my dearest! Now we've crossed the seas,
Will you still call it love between you and me?
For love is such a tender word, desiring a
ritual so vicious, which makes us one.
