MyDeath
Now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the Lord my soul to keep
If I should die before I wake and curiosity will overtake
Whatever happened
Why did she die
Is that why she screamed
Is that why she cried
Were there many problems
That danced through her head
Or did her wish come true
Did she wish to be dead
As the Curiosity
Runs through their minds
Sooner or later
I'll be left behind
Six Feet Under
I'll rest in peace
And when the snow comes down
I'll be covered in sleet
And in the fall
The leaves will drop
Along my tombstone
they cover the top
And in the springtime
The rain Pours Down
And the crinkly leaves
They begin to drown
Now it is summer
My birthday is near
And this would have been
My 15th year
About this poem
I wrote this 31 years ago. I was 14 yrs old. It was the first I ever wrote. I jumped out of my bunkbed one night to hurry & write the flow in my head to not forget..for some reason. It was published in school magazine a year later after it stirred up a Ruckus of concern from a teacher from my school at a ball game on the subway that summer
