OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR...
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR..
You go about your way as always before
Your past rushes so fast you can't ignore
That feeling of defeat dragging you down
Looking on life's mirror without a sound
You keep pushing the past so far away
But your demons haunt you anyway
You know those objects in the mirror…
…They'r so much closer than they appear
You look in the past, filled with such shame
So your mind says “let's lay a little game”
Put some miles between you and your deeds
Looking in the mirror you're watering seeds
You can try to outrun your darkened past
Looking back you think its gonna last
You know those objects in the mirror…
…They'r so much closer than they appear
On you run your lost Faith in the Son
That hope you had’s been all but undone
Remember the peace the Cross gave you
Look in the Mirror, that peace is still true
You think that Cross is so far behind
God's Spirit hastens to remind
You know those objects in the mirror…
…They'r so much closer than they appear
Without looking you turn around
To face the Cross, Salvation found
Fall to your knees, praise His Name
Of the One who redeems your shame
So cruise ahead, this road holds no fear
The sun is shining, the way is clear
And why don't you throw out you mirror
In the Cross, your sins don't appear
Amen
About this poem
For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” By calling this covenant “new,” he has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and outdated will soon disappear. Hebrews 8:12-13
