YOU SAY IM A HATER
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
YOU SAY IM A HATER
You say I'm a hater, but it's hate you're living
You say I'm a hater, but I'm praying and forgiving
Since when is it hate, to love one another?
That I'm condemned, for treating you as a brother
You say I'm a hater, for standing on Jesus Name.
I tell you now, that God loves you all the same
Speaking truth in love, is never done in hate
See the Truth now, for time is getting late
Seek the Truth, and Jesus will set you free
He loves you still no matter what happens to me
Yeah I'm such a hater, my last prayer is for you
I pray Jesus, forgives, you know not what you do
Once I was you, a hater deep down in my heart
Till God's love, shook the hate all apart
I saw His love there on ancient Calvary
It's His love that set my aching heart free
You can call love hate, yet He loves you still
Condemn me as a hater, yet forgive you I will
Now I stand condemned, I pray His love for you
You say I'm a hater, but that's nothing new
We've been called such for a millenia or two
Yet loving you is what I'm called to do
I pray forgiveness and mercy for all of you
You say I'm a hater, but I don't do what haters do
Amen
About this poem
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5 10-13
