Time mends even the deepest wounds
There is a hollow feeling deep in my chest
It is almost as if a piece of a puzzle is missing
Most of the time it just lingers in the shadows
Eating away at me in silence, chewing at me
Mostly, the times I feel it are when I'm harmed
Everyone seems to misunderstand my intentions
Not everyone sees the light within the storm
Diamonds are to be made due to coal being under pressure
So what jewel would a soul under pressure form
Eyes should focus on the future but I feel hollow
Veins of fire eating away at me slowly over time
Entering places and gnawing to the bone
Not ever being able to call a place home
To many times have I been told that I wasn't proper
Here then you take him they would say
Even those who should have cared have given up
Digging away in little cracks running deep
Even entering my muscles and joints causing pain
Eating away ate me and leaving nothing behind
People ignore things that they don't understand
Even those who were to teach you the ways of life
So all that you can do is keep moving forward
Though each time it repeats the scar opens and widens
When it eats away so much and becomes infectious
Only removing it may help you heal they say
Understand that I have only felt at peace once
Not having to change my thoughts to match others
Dreams of finding that peace with someone else
So I know it's out there I just have to find it
