A Thank You To My Father

I was surely in the dark. Thinking you don't love me and all kinds of bad things.
I wanted to go but you told me no. It was not my time you said. And I just couldn't get it.
But friend I do now see. It was the enemy not me. He shall stay defeated.
Thank you for taking me out the pit. I truly do now get it.
I was ignoring your voice, trying to give me love. Confused and stuck.
Now I'm no longer your lost sheep.
I'm thankful that you forgave me and saved me.
Like the lyrics in Amazing Grace.
" How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I'm found. Was Blind, But I now see."
Thank you, God! Thank you, God!
for taking that blindfold off of me!
Thank you, God! Thank you, God!
while I was in my sin, Giving up on you.
You didn't give up on me!
Thank you, God! Thank you, God!
for doing a 180 on me!
You brought back your lost sheep!
Thank you, God! Thank you, God!
Your Holy Spirit now dwells in me.

About this poem

I wrote this poem after giving my life to God. So, I'm sharing not just for it to be judged but for someone who loves Jesus as much as I do or maybe needs him right now and hopefully even able to give your life to him.
