mammon

a bronze coin
spinning
after being
             dropped,
'fore revealing heads or tails
sounds the same
in spite of which prevails.

a silver coin's reflection
can blind
though in darkness invisible,
a false light which fell
slipping
through fingertips,
forming a crowd
all the way
                   down.

a gold coin
put forth
to open doors,
a skeleton key
can move    men,
buy food and
symbols of Love
or weapons of war,
indeed
you can sell your soul
for even more.

though afterall,
exists a coin
not mined from Earth
nor panned from seas,
brought forth by darkness
at dawn
to give reprieve...

from bonds and abyss,
and the shadow
of a lover insists.

It talks about the beauty of a coin, which I think is a cool thing to write about.
