World of Color

Dull and lifeless in a world of color
More walnuts than oranges
More rust than raisins
More chick peas than pumpkins

What does the heart feel
Where does the touch go
In the hand so awkwardly holding
Stepping up a ladder to keep from falling?

When to see the stars so bright
In the halo of the midnight plight
While the ring protects its beauty
And shines brightly back at you

It started with a touch
So long ago
An awkward hand hold that knew to much
If even the mind did not

Where does the touch start
Where does the touch go
Silently traces the face
All the way down to the toes

When does the heart stop
Where does it belong
Who does it belong to
No one knows where it beats

I’ve seen too much hate
Too much anger
Questioned my own beliefs
And still… back to one touch
