The Mother

Amit kumar Dutta 1977 (Assam)

Mother mother where art thou
Thou hast left us all alone
May you come again as an Angel
To shower your blessings on.

Thou art a symbol of peace and love
Protector of the waif and the afflicted
A lantern in this world so dark
A soul so pure any Nation's pride.

Guide us from your humble abode
Commit thy ways into us, that
We may tread along your steps great
And seek thee in our thoughts.

Great were your tender mercies
Heart full of love and kindness thou
May you come again as an Angel
To preach the message of peace and love.
