Dearest Friend

I've thought about it often
Yet, felt it far and few
But when I think of friendship
My thoughts are turned toward you.

With each day I remember
Needing strength or someone there
Something would bring you to me
To show me someone cared.

Your kindness and your laughter
Brightened many darkened days
And eased my pain or hurt inside
In loving, thoughtful ways.
