Death and the Night
The black rubbers bawled,
Smoke strangulates the night.
That angry boom,
That brought the darkness
To its feet,
Surpassed the rubbers’ howl.
A body winged
And grounded viciously.
Lights out.
The night silently loses its breath.
As the black mist rise,
The darkness became sightless.
The stench of the occurrence
Changes nature’s aroma.
Then the flickering and flashing lights
Restores the night’s vision.
The weeping vehicles give the gloom a voice,
As I urge the sun to shine.
