Dusk
The sun whispers silent goodbyes
dripping down earth's velvet skies
crying colours of violet and peach
against the soft glow of moon's reach
shamed windows turn to mirror
with the loss of light becoming clearer
the colours releasing one by one
of every object that once felt the sun
spiraling downward, the sun shot blue
the last colours - pleas! - of what the sun knew
slowly collecting like dust on the table
and day parts sadly, a smile unable
unseen
