Elegy
This is for you,
After I am dead and gone,
You know who you are
And you know what not to do.
Do not cry
To see my body lying there, cold
And empty. Beyond the heavens,
Ecstatic, my soul does fly.
This abandonment would be wrong,
Your abandonment to sorrow misplaced,
Because I am with God; consumed with joy,
I sing a truly new song.
The hole in your heart,
Where I used to belong,
Can be filled. Make this my Eulogy,
And immortalize my art.
Do not feel pain,
I am your angel.
Trust in God and keep your faith-
For I will see you again.
A gift to you now -
This letter brought by the Breeze,
Who is my herald and final kiss,
And the embodiment of your sorrow.
Goodbye.
