Sad story
Karolina Marszałkowska 1993 (Gdańsk)
One winter's day
He went away
Leaving me alone
And heading to the war
He took his sword
His helmet and horse
He followed his lord
Not knowing he was false
I waited in hour home
For letter just one word
And what did I recieve?
His sword I didn't need
Messager told me this:
He died, he rests in peace
He returns in this form
To the only one he loved
He fought in the Valley of bliss
However arrows didn't miss
Who was the enemy I asked
"Saying this is not my task"
I went to the town
To see this country's crown
Guard let me in
Cause I was a friend of the Queen
I asked again:
Enemies were?
"Our army's lord
He joined the evil horde"
I couldn't believe
He made such evil deed
I came back home
And prepared for war
General was near Great river
I hated that deciever
With on my lips, word
I pointed at him sword
With grace and cry
To him I flyed
Saw fear in his eyes
Heared how he denied
"It wasn't my fault"
He drew his own sword
"We were caught off guard"
He shouldn't be alive
With a swing I cut
Wanted to destroy that rat
With his follower's sword
With this blade made of gold
I killed not only him
But all enemies that were here
I cannot count as many
I killed until I felt weary
But it wasn't enough
I wanted to be more rough
Wanted the world to feel
My sorrow after man it killed
And I couldn't take anymore
I didn't have a reason I'd live for
I finally wanted to take a rest
So I stroked with his sword my chest
