She Wore a Fake Smile
She wears a fake smile.
She has been this way for a while.
Her lonely life, so horrific.
She dreams one day it will terrific.
Only if they knew.
The daily struggles she went through.
She hoped and prayed for a change.
But it never came.
She was a homeless teen.
Her family split, never to be seen.
She never did anything so deserving.
To be given this life she's been serving.
Her grades began to slip.
She is smart as a whip.
The smartest, fell to the failing.
She couldn't handle the life she was dealing.
Her dream was to become a dancer.
She would do it for free.
She was diagnosed with cancer.
All she wanted was her dream.
No body knew.
What darkness she was going through.
She had no family and no friends.
She was her only friend.
She just needed someone on her side.
But no one wanted to. Not one tried.
To be honest.
She wondered if god had a conscience.
She was always let down.
No money around.
Sad, hungry and on the ground.
Her life was spiraling down.
The doctor said today.
She was only one month away.
How could she live life in 30 days.
She cried all night, depressed, dazed.
"Forget the family" she read.
"They never helped me" she said.
I will make these last days the best!
This put her to the ultimate test~
The first week she danced around the street.
Dancing to a foreign beat.
She would be a dancer for one day.
No one felt her desperate pain.
She had always dreamt to have a friend.
And she made one at the shelter.
They talked till nights end.
She awoke alone, her friend had left.
The third week she thought of her family.
She wanted to see them once more.
She found their house, dad opened the door.
He had a new family, forced her away with profanity.
Her last week, so frail and weak.
She sat near the river so depressed.
All she ever wanted was to have someone.
She had nothing left.
Only if they knew.
Would they have helped her?
Would people still treat her the way they did?
Her life was tragically through.
