The bar tender,
No, the beer tender:
He's a murderer
Who the law cannot burn.
He does always slay
Men who constantly stay
Where liquid poison lay
Beside the death stand- the bar!
Do I hear you whisper no?
Do you not know
How legal killings go
Beneath the bar tender's show?
Where in the whole wide world
Had sons of men not fallen
Beneath the cold grips of death,
Borne by the hand of depths
Laden with sour wine;
Sweet poison of men's souls?
The bar tender,
Who dolls out softless wine
To those who come to dine:
He's the deadliest assassin!
The law cannot fault him,
When the rulers do gain
Through the gains of the brewer,
To the drunkard's pains;
What misfortunes of fortunes!
The bar is a legal centre
From where men's souls pass
Into voidful eternity.
The bar tender,
He's the chief executionist
That slays innocent carnals,
Guilty of gullible greed;
And this we cannot disprove,
For we're all fallen a prey!
