The Last Race
It was supposed to be a celebration
A feat that worked your feet as it made a proclamation
To the world that prime fitness was your destination
But as it started with a bang
It ended with one as well
As hearts of loved ones were lost and families experienced hell
On earth and were left shocked and cold
With a chill that shook the young and the old
Little did they know that this long race
In this normally peaceful place
Would be the last finish line they'd ever cross
They finished a marathon and a lifetime at the exact same instance
Which makes me sick to my stomach and fills my heart with quicksand
And pain and it tears at my very soul
Why did they have to die while wearing out soles?
They were good people yes this is true
But were they innocent? No. Their payment for their sin is past due
Which has been covered by The Lambs' blood; a deep red hue
We are only on earth because of God's will
And we are all guilty sinners without the slightest clue
Of when He will call us up to His heavenly realm
But sadly most of us let life drone on like a documentary film
So tell those you love that you love em
And pray for those who recently went to God's kingdom
Pray for the families affected by this disaster
Pray for the ones who deny our true master
Pray for everyone affected by this mess
Pray that we will stay locked on His holiness
Pray for Boston-4/15/13
