The Red Ridges LXV
Calm down, there are roots in the forests
That have seen the Chinese walls and western planes
That have proved effective in the life's course's worth
That have lingered in the background for ages
You may want to get to know one or two or three
That you may appreciate the wonders of nature's school
You may indeed recycle the foot wears and bottles
That your finishes may beautify the guts of tomorrow
Just calm down and master the tracks, do not get lost
Learn the leaves and the trees, the flowers and shrubs
You may also know the grasses in the fields and ranches
The grains and beacons of intellectual concord
But then you must understand that medicine is not food
Even if the capsules are meals' worth and can sustain
Even if the intravenous portions are energy's worth and can revive
Even if the tablets are nutrient's worth that can supplement
Just table the roots for cutters and leaves for the crushers
Tell the fingers on the table to get branded and licensed
Tell the tools to get modern and sanitized with time
Then whisper the shout out for the doctors to comer in
