The Temptation
She mars the face of redemption;
A sore within, fester it shall not,
For I will cut her out and watch her
Fall to the cold floor, crash like none before.
There is beauty in destruction, and
Peace within the chance to
Escape from our wreckage;
But oh, how gorgeously it burns.
Can I pull myself away?
The walls in this godforsaken home,
They bleed deceit and I am
Drowning in the scent of regret.
Her image is burned into my retinas
As her shame fills my lungs
To the brim.
They say that the road to hell...
That road is paved with good intentions
And the false pretenses of our world.
I want you to trust me when I
say that I am hellbent on heaven.
