The Truth Without Photoshop

"I will adjust the brightness to make the message a little brighter.
I will NOT resize, rotate or flip it so that when you first hear it, it sounds less offensive.
I will not resize truth for the purpose of fitting in your frame."
- P4CM Official Poet Janette

I will not erase the blemishes in my life because those are the ones that make me. I will not resize the size of my bust so that when I go out all the attention is in my chest. I will not photoshop my life. I will not add the glitter to my eyes so that I can give the impression that I'm okay or hide the cuts and bruises that someone might have caused. I will not soften the image that I uphold. I will contrast it and make my life much brighter and focused. I will not change the color of my skin so that I can appear more beautiful or the color of my eyes so I can belong to another. I will speak the whole truth without photoshop. I will not resize my mistakes, crop my dignity and expose my body. I will not add more than what the image can uphold. I will not add lies to my image nor my surroundings. I will live with all the blemishes that my life holds. I will not add a border around myself so I can keep myself away or focus on what they're trying to make me be. I will not dim the background so that when you first see me you focus on my story. I will not color it to make it look more interesting or add fake things to make it look more pretty. I will not edit my mistakes, resize my weight and edit away my sexual preference because it suits your expectations.

I will not add more and take away to fit on the cover of Vogue or make the frame smaller so when they see me they think I was a supermodel. I will not take away the pride and joy of being me. I will not align my smile to make it more evenly. I will not change the color of my hair to make it a different me, to make it a prettier me. I will let my flaws speak, let the flaws in my body speak about myself. I will brighten up the background so that you can see me as a whole, will let those small breasts, wide hips show. I will make the message a little bit more brighter, will speak for the woman and children that might judge me, will let my real beauty speak volumes. I will not crop my waist, resize my lips, tan my skin, adjust my breasts and try to fit in because I'm not a photoshop mistake, I am a human being. If you think I'm ugly then the truth is ugly. I will not longer edit away my pride, edit away me being human, edit away the bruises, edit away my dignity.

"Truth be told I am beautiful and if your beauty is based on photoshop then photoshop will run your life, I rather speak the truth without photoshop." -Yanira Roman
