Triangles to Squares

Do you remember me?
It's so hard to think about
The distance that's created
In the time it takes
To waste this life
Turn around
No break lights
----
Lying on the floor
And I almost lost the memories
That haunted me
With ghosts
That know of only
Closed doors
I begged you open up to me
I promised things I couldn't be
But I would have been them
----
Hard to remember you
I knew you with a certainty
The freckles on your face have changed
From triangles to squares
Impossible to trace
We didn't leave the breadcrumbs it would take
To come back from this
The way you turned your back on me
I promised things I couldn't be
But I would have been them
----
Do you remember us?
When we were happy
Like the pictures say
And those don't fade
Unless you burn them like you did
And then you burned my heart out
Said things that you cant turn around now
The way you blamed it all on me
I promised things I couldn't be
But I would have been them…
