TRUE American
Standing tall, hand to the brim
7 thunder claps, shouts through the air
sky looking nothing but grim
Rain falls hard, but the hand never quivers
grass is dry
but the ground shivers
a box filled with treasure
covered in a proud blanket,
with roses on top,
is lowered.
Whispers are softly heard
"I love you"
"you were a hero"
"strong man"
"Rest in peace"
As the feet walk away
my voice is last to say
" You are a TRUE American"
