What makes a man love
a woman; and she loves more?

On the beach close
to the squinting sun

Why does love instigate
clouds and winds and storms
and buries the rainmaker?

I once loved but was snapped
by a frog’s long tongue.

Love could be sun.
Was she the passionate
paid mourner?
