The Tails of the Village Idiot, November 19th, 2006: Dear Santa
Posted by natey on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 (00:44:30)
Dear Santa,
I was just thinking how weird it is that after growing up in the ever so rigid Roman Catholic Church (NOT), and being such a prostitute for God for so long, that I could possibly believe in you and not Jesus Christ. I mean, I can literally believe, and prove, that with very little doubt, that you can travel to billions of homes each Christmas and deliver toys to billions of men women and children all in the blink of an eye, but yet I don't have any religious belief or conviction whatsoever...

Hey folks
FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS
I'd like to say that the "Chicken, greens and poetry" TV Dinners were a huge success, regardless of those poor individuals who suffered not being able to read the poetry because some of the lemon peper reduction during processing was too close to the poetry. Many apologies, but hey, you can send em back to me. Just pm me at "natey" here on the site, and we'll take care of it.

TVI's opprobrious diatribe of 53 do's and don'ts for poetry.
Posted by John on Monday, August 30, 2004 (19:39:18)
1. First off, just to make sure we are on the same page, take my advice: don't make a list like this. In fact, if anybody ever writes a list like this, including me and this particular list, don't read it or give in to their narcissism. Honestly, it will seriously disappoint most of you. Also, if you don't even know what opprobrious means, definately don't read any further until you look it up. (http://www.dictionary.com)

NNL 08-07-04. Writing Techniques of The Village Idiot.
Posted by John on Saturday, August 07, 2004 (13:16:50)
I figured today for my NNL I would expound on my writing process. Mainly, I am just throwing my two cents in. For those of you who are a bit confused about writing, my writing, anybody else's writing, etc, this may confuse you even more. Which is always good. And this is why:

With a thousand smiles, she gives to me free

Take anything you want from me, anything
Anything.
Fly on little wing,
Yeah yeah, yeah, little wing."

"Who are you and who am I to say we know the reason why?
Some are born; some men die beneath one infinite sky.
There'll be war, there'll be peace.
But everything one day will cease.
All the iron turned to rust; all the proud men turned to dust.
And so all things time will mend.
So this song will end."

I want a girl and not a pearl.
I want a girl who'll take me home.
A kind is nice and will get me
where i want to go. Yeah.
There's been a lover to ignore me,
To ask me the one who knows.
If I tell the car, run the other,
Will it end from there?
Take a look underneath the hood,
And I won't be friends.

Totvi March 11th, 2003: Photograph
Posted by John on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 (01:00:00)
If you want beautiful, pitiful,
Have me in a picture
And if you want make me dance,
Throw me round spin upon your Finger
Blind labors the blind and I am
Unwilling to uncover my eyes
And if you want take your time rifle
Through, find a very nice one
If there's a crease in my face over
Time, there's plenty more where
That came from

Tails of the Village Idiot Part Fifty Something: Lighters
Posted by John on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 (01:00:00)
Tails of the Village Idiot: Number fifty something (I better start keeping track): "Lighters"
I could walk away, I could let this fly
go back home and start again -- Fruitless
I have faith in how things seem to start again,
that tale of your one big chance is a lie, told by consumed men.
And I push, and I push to not give in
I don''t recall a place that I would call the end
But things are different now I know and that was then.
I could walk away, I''ve been pushing for so long,
All dried up and sap sucked thin -- Fruitless
And I push, and I push to not give in.
From the song "Fruitless" by Poi Dog Pondering.

The Tails of the Village Idiot:
Posted by John on Friday, February 14, 2003 (03:25:00)
"Tell me one more time
How you're sorry about the way
This all went down - you needed to find your space
You needed to still be friends
Needed me to call you if I ever couldn't keep it all together
you'd comfort me tell me but forever
And the promises I never should have believed in
Here's what I'm thinking
It won't be the first - heart that you break
It won't be the last - beautiful girl
The one that you wrecked - won't take you back
If you were the last beautiful girl in the world"
From Matchbox 20 - Mad Season - lyrics to Last Beautiful Girl.

Is something wrong, she said
Well of course there is
You're still alive, she said
Oh, and do I deserve to be
Is that the question?
And if so...if so...
who answers...who answers...
I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey I, oh, I'm still alive
Hey I, but, I'm still alive
Yeah I, ooh, I'm still alive
-From the lyrics to "Alive" by Pearl Jam.
