Silver light upon my path,
sudden breeze in velvet night,
cobwebs of confusion swayed,
thoughts that lingered in the gray.

Why the burden?
Looking back as if in vision,
footsteps on the sands of time,
set of one.  Why not two?
Where was God in my despair, grief?
Did He leave?
Where the promise if His eternal stay?

Then upon my walk one way
voice within small. still
like a whisper, yet arresting.
"You were in my arms, my child
when, in your darkness, you were bling".
