First Kissanticipation
a spark flares
i know it's coming
but i don't know when
should i ask for it
with words or actions
or simply wait for the moment
impatient
i glance away
not wanting to show
my desire just yet
but the longing persists
i return his gaze
more deeply this time
wondering
again i see a spark
still unsure
his or a reflection of mine
watching his lips as he speaks
i imagine them pressed to mine
can he read my thoughts
intrigued
i didn't hear the question
a trembling smile
he reaches to caress my burning cheek
chuckling softly at my blunder
eyes searching for understanding
the moment has arrived
mesmerized
both hands now
fingers splayed through my hair
pulling me gently closer
his lips barely brush mine
testing... tasting... teasing ...
our breaths mingle for a moment
then dance away into the night
captivated
firmer now more sure
he pulls back eyes questioning
my arms twine around his neck pulling him close
a dialogue lips saying what words cannot
the questions have been answered
with exquisite tenderness
